Hello! During the last Gamescom, I asssited to a presentation of Kingdom Come: Deliverance. Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a first person realistic medieval ARPG (for “Action Role Playing Game”). It is also an indie game ! You can have more information by watching the Gamescom 2015 trailer.

Interview of Tobi, PR Manager at Warhorse Studios

SuzuKube : Hello ! SuzuKube from Otakugame.fr ! Can you present yourself ? What is your role in the team ?
Tobi :  Greetings SuzuKube, my name is Tobi and I am the PR Manager at Warhorse Studios.

SuzuKube : Before you were at WarHorse, had you worked on other games ?
Tobi : Before I started to work here I was actually same as you… I was a journalist.. so I basically changed sides. But our team which is really working on Kingdom Come : Deliverance is filled with Veterans from the gaming Industry. We have our Creative Director Dan Vávra for example who played a major role in Mafia I and Mafia II. A lot of expertise meets here at Warhorse Studios. And that’s good because the young guns can learn a lot from them. That creates a very good family and team feeling.

SuzuKube : How Kingdom Come : Deliverance have been funded ?
Tobi : Kingdom Come : Deliverance is a crowdfunded game. That means that we went on Kickstarter to make this dream come true. But it was really sink or swim since this was the last chance to make it happen. And… we succeeded! So from March 2014 we are in full development, with a team of over 80 people now.

SuzuKube : I heard it was a risky project. Why ?
Tobi : Risky is not the right word. The project is new and different. That is why most of the publisher were scared of. No one wanted to believe that a medieval single player RPG without Magic and Dragons might be interesting for the gaming world. But they were wrong ! We showed that there is actually a huge fan base waiting for the game and that is awesome. We wanted to crowdfund 300.000 British Pounds and got over 1.1 million…. This is incredible and bonds us very tight to our community.

SuzuKube : How many peoples work on Kingdom Come : Deliverance ?
Tobi : The idea started with Dan in a pub in Prague… so from 1 guy… to 15 who created a prototype for publisher, to 25 who prepared Kickstarter to 60 who released the first Tech Alpha 0.1 in October to now 80 people who prepare the Tech Alpha 0.5 right now.

SuzuKube : Is there some music in the game ? What kind of music?
Tobi : Of course there is music. We have an awesome 3 member music department. A composer who is writing the music and who will record it with a symphonic orchestra, a Sound Engineer who is going to the streets and woods to record every single sound possible and a Music Designer who is a mixture between a programmer and a musician. He combines the music with the game and let the music actually react to the gameplay of the player.

SuzuKube : Thanks to you for that interview !
Tobi : Thank you very much for the interview. If you are interested in the project please don’t hesitate to visit www.kingdomcomerpg.com and get your Alpha access now ! There will be an update by the end of October.

The Warhorse Team

I played a demo of the game on PC at Gamescom 2015, and it was a good experience. Everything was photorealistic with awesome lighting effects ! The fights are a little hard, because to kill an enemy, you have to target the weak points on his body, according to 5-way cross system, but it was a really interesting system. Kingdom Come Delivrance is different kind of RPG, you need to try it and experience a new way of gaming !

The game will be released in 2016, on PC (Steam), PS4 and Xbox One.

A first-person, open world, realistic RPG that will take you to medieval Europe in a time of great upheaval and strife.

Our unique, first-person combat system lets you wield sword aor bow in both one-on-one skirmishes and large-scale battles.

Brought to life beautifully with next-gen visuals delivered via CryEngine.

Dive deep into a sweeping, epic, non-linear story from Daniel Vávra, an award-winning designer of the mafia series.
